Model Highlights

Powering the two-seat Gallardo is a mid-mounted 5.2L V10 engine making 570 horsepower. According to Lamborghini, the Squadra Corse can get to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 198 mph. The Italian automaker says it will get to 124 mph (200 km/h) in just over ten seconds. The Squadra Corse features a carbon fiber hood and rear wing, both of which equate to a 154-pound weight reduction over a standard Gallardo. The Gallardo's viscous-center-coupling permanent all-wheel drive system sends 70 percent of power to the rear wheels in normal driving -- and allows this sports car's handling to be quite balanced, even under power. The Gallardo Squadra Corse comes with an e-gear automated 6-speed transmission, with steering wheel paddles for full manual control. Compared to the standard Gallardo LP 560-4 of yore, the Squadra Corse has an even firmer suspension, with carbon-ceramic brakes at all four corners. Lightweight 19-inch wheels and complete the high-performance package. To save even more weight, the Squadra Corse gets a host of lightweight parts that include a carbon-fiber air diffuser, spoiler and side skirts, plus carbon fiber side mirrors and engine cover. The interior, meanwhile, is the perfect blend of carbon fiber and Alcantara leather.
